Local weekly and monthly singings
Every Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM in Northampton
Come sing at Helen Hills Hills Chapel on the campus of Smith College in Northampton, MA! Singing is from the Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition (“red book”).
- Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 no longer required
- Proof of a same-day negative rapid test will continue to be required at least through September 2023
- Masks are optional
- Please notify the board if you contract Covid within 10 days of singing
Free rapid tests are available for testing at the door, and singers are welcome to take them home for testing on future Tuesdays as needed.
First Sunday of the month from 3 to 5 PM in Deerfield
Come sing at Deerfield Community Center at Historic Deerfield! Singing is from the “red book” as well as other sources, including the Cooper Revision of the Sacred Harp, Shenandoah Harmony, Northern Harmony, selections from Harp of Ages, and anything else in four or seven shapes that singers bring.
- Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 not required
- Masks are optional
- Same-day testing encouraged, but not required (please stay home if you know or suspect you are ill)
- Please notify the board if you contract Covid within 10 days of singing
Annual events
WMSHC sponsors two all-day singings as well as a two-day convention.
Pioneer Valley All-Day Singing (Saturday before the 1st Sunday in July)
Berkshire Foothills All-Day Singing (Saturday before the 2nd Sunday in November)
Western Massachusetts Sacred Harp Convention (2nd Sunday in March and Saturday before)
