2018 Western Massachusetts Sacred Harp Convention
War Memorial Building, 310 Appleton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040
March 10 and 11, 2018
10:00am to 3:30pm
The Sacred Harp, continuously in print since 1844, is the backbone of one of this country's oldest, most vital, and soul-stirring musical traditions. You have to sing it to believe it! The convention is free, and beginners are welcome! We'll have books available to borrow. Come and go as you please!
We'll have dinner on the grounds at 12:30pm both days, and a social on Saturday evening at the home of a local singer.
There will be a pre-convention singing on Friday evening, 7-9pm, at First Churches (129 Main Street, Northampton, MA).
- Chair: Gerald Clark, firstname.lastname@example.org
- Vice-Chair: Stina Soderling
- Secretary: Becca Hawkins
Housing is available with local singers! Questions? Email email@example.com.

Driving: Get directions to the War Memorial building. There is ample parking in the 2 lots diagonally across the street from the building (but not the McDonald's lot directly across the way). Street parking is also available and free on weekends.
Public Transit: From Northampton, take the B48 bus that leaves from the Academy of Music on Main Street and drops you off at Holyoke Transportation Center on Maple Street, across from Veteran's Park. Facing the park, turn left onto Maple Street and walk about 3 blocks. The War Memorial Building will be on your right, just after the intersection with Appleton Street. It's about a 6 minute walk. The first busses of the morning on Saturday and Sunday arrive in Holyoke at 9:30am, just in time.
