2024 Berkshire Foothills All-Day Singing
Saturday, November 9, 2024 — 10am to 3:30pm
Please join us for the annual Berkshire Foothills All Day Singing! This is the same location as last year in Pittsfield. All are welcome, regardless of past experience with Sacred Harp singing or any kind of singing. We will break from 12:30 to 1:30 for dinner on the grounds. We will sing from The Sacred Harp, 1991 Edition. Books will be available for sale or loan.
Location:
First United Methodist Church
55 Fenn St, Pittsfield MA
Covid protocols:
- Proof of vaccination is not required.
- Masks are optional.
- Proof of a negative same-day test is required.
- Contact tracing information will be taken at registration.
Accessibility: The singing, eating location and single-stall restroom are all wheelchair accessible. Further details: the wheelchair entrance has an ADA-compliant walkway to a powered push button door that is 34 inches wide. Once inside, the wheelchair accessible restroom is on the same floor and has a doorway of 35 inches. Everything is on this level with the exception of additional bathrooms which are upstairs and down a hallway.
Kitchen: There is ample kitchen space and power to keep food heated. Singing and dinner on the grounds will both take place in the dining hall of the church. The dining hall is big enough for food to be set out during the third session of singing.
Childcare: Childcare will be available in a designated area of the building.
Parking: There is a large municipal parking lot adjacent to the church with entrances on Fenn St and First St. Additionally, there is ample on-street parking in the area. All of these spaces are free on Saturdays.
Housing: If you are traveling and would like to stay with a singer, contact Micah Walter. Many singers live an hour’s drive away (or a little more) from the singing.
Although in the past there has been a singing from the Harp of Ages on the Friday preceding this singing, please note that there will not be such a Friday night singing this year.
Invite your friends! We hope to sing with you soon!
