Dear singing friends,

Please come to a pot luck and singing at my home in Leyden on Monday, July 6. We will be using the 7 shape book Harp of Ages. If you are unfamiliar, the Harp of Ages is a 7 shape book full of wonderful songs, used more often in New Mexico and Texas, but here in Massachusetts we have come to love singing from it. Loaner handouts are available. This annual singing is a relaxed gathering of friends far and near, with good food, fun for all ages, and songs that fill your heart. This is a home singing. There is room for kids to play and for listeners to hang out and knit or chat or whatever.

There is the possibility of woods walks or swimming in a nearby river before the potluck at 5. Just get in touch for more information or directions. Also come early if you want a garden tour. If I head to the river beforehand, I will be sure to be back at the house by 5. Just come on in.

Bring food and chairs, if you can.

Western Massachusetts Sacred Harp Community, Inc. (WMSHC), a 501(c) non-profit organization, promotes community-based singing from The Sacred Harp through Sacred Harp Singing Schools, an annual Singing Convention and other educational and outreach activities. The Convention has no institutional, religious or political affiliation, but fosters the fellowship Sacred Harp singing engenders, and all who wish to participate are invited to lift their voices in song, regardless of musical training or ability.
